Youth Chorus Auditions at Minnesota Opera Center for Giacomo Puccini’s La bohème (in Italian)

Minnesota Opera is auditioning youth singers ages 10 – 16 for the youth ensemble in our upcoming production of Giacomo Puccini’s La bohème in May 2024. Auditions will be held at the Minnesota Opera Center (620 N 1st st, Minneapolis, MN 55401) on Saturday, November 4, 2023. 

Before signing up for an audition slot, please read the information below.

• All performers must be fully vaccinated before the first rehearsal. 
• Performers must be between the ages of 10 – 16.
• Performers must be available for all rehearsals and performances. The rehearsal schedule will be available at your audition.
• Performers will audition in groups of five to ten in 30-minute increments. Please indicate your preferred time slot in the sign-up form. 
• In your audition, we will teach you a short excerpt from the opera. You do not need to prepare anything in advance for this part of your audition. 
• We are looking for performers who are enthusiastic, focused, and can learn quickly. 
• While reading music notation and knowing Italian are not required, they can be very useful in the rehearsal process.
