The lunch is led by Joe Thiegs of Thompson & Associates, the nation’s premier values-based estate planning firm. Joe is a specialist in planned giving and family philanthropic advising, and will discuss this values-based estate planning service sponsored by MN Opera. 

Following the lunch, guests will be invited to sign up for complimentary, confidential Estate Planning sessions, a service provided by MN Opera to the arts-loving community. It comes with no hidden agendas, no pressure, no obligations, and no time restraints.

JOE THIEGS, J.D., FCEP

Joe enjoys helping couples and individuals put together plans in line with their values that give them financial peace of mind, provide for their families, and make the world a better place through the nonprofits they often support.

Joe is President and owner of the consulting firm Generoworks LLC, specializing in planned giving and family philanthropic advising. Until making consulting his full- time occupation in 2019, Joe was the Planned Giving Director at Minnesota Public Radio and American Public Media in St. Paul, Minnesota. Prior to that, he worked as Associate Director of Advancement at the University of Minnesota Law School, as a Planned Giving Officer at the University of Minnesota Foundation, and as an estate planning attorney at Dorsey & Whitney LLP in Minneapolis.

He is active in his local community and has spent several years on numerous boards and committees. Joe is a regular presenter for the Minnesota Planned Giving Council and other organizations and serves as the national Planned Giving Advisor and facilitator of the Legacy Leaders cohort for Greater Public. He also co-founded Stage of Life®.

Soprano Lindsay Ohse continues to illuminate four centuries’ worth of repertoire with her “dazzling and crystal clear” voice. She has performed with numerous companies internationally, including The Metropolitan Opera, Bayerischer Staatsoper, Portland Opera, Annapolis Opera, Opera Baltimore, Anchorage Opera, Opera Orlando, Sarasota Opera, Opera Southwest, and numerous others. Some of her roles include Violetta Valery in La Traviata, Adina in L’elisir d’amore, the title role of Cendrillon, Musetta in La Boheme, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, and Gilda in Rigoletto. In 2022, she earned a Grammy award for her work on the Metropolitan Opera’s recording of Philip Glass’ Akhnaten. This fall, she is very excited to be joining the Minnesota Opera in their upcoming production of Cosi fan tutte.

Seattle native Joseph Li joined Minnesota Opera as Vice President, Artistic in 2021. An alumnus of the Houston Grand Opera Studio, Mr. Li made his conducting debut leading new works commissioned for Houston Grand Opera by Jack Perla and Franghiz Ali-Zadeh. Mr. Li has served as principal coach for world premieres including André Previn’s Brief Encounter at Houston Grand Opera and John Musto’s The Inspector, commissioned by the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. Productions he has coached at HGO include La fille du régiment, La bohème, Béatrice et Bénédict, Cruzar la Cara de la Luna, and Dead Man Walking. He has performed in recital with Jamie Barton, Tamara Wilson, and Ryan McKinny, and has served as a guest coach and instructor for Houston Grand Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Minnesota Opera, Rice University, Baylor University, Opera Lyra Ottawa, Arizona Opera, Opera Birmingham, and the Aspen Opera Theater Center.
