EDWARD TULANE RECORDING PROJECT

Minnesota Opera is extremely excited for the premiere of Edward Tulane this March, as the commission represents Paola Prestini’s first opera on a grand scale, and the first female composer in the company’s New Works Initiative. We have inspired patrons from out of state who have offered match gifts of $125,000 to allow us to digitally capture Paola’s first grand opera for CD and a future national television broadcast.

Our fundraising total to date is now over $125,000 with a goal of $400,000.

Recently, Minnesota Opera productions of Silent Night and Doubt have appeared on Great Performances on PBS, and we have our fingers crossed that Edward Tulane will be our next featured title! With that in mind, we’re looking to raise nationwide awareness and support for this final portion of the project.
