This fall, as part of our New Works Initiative, Minnesota Opera presents the world premiere of The Many Deaths of Laila Starr, music by Kamala Sankaram and libretto by Minita Gandhi.
Ahead of the historic world premiere, put your own spin on the award-winning graphic novel by Ram V and Filipe Andrade from BOOM! Studios by creating unique new artwork for the cover!
Send in your work for a chance to win a pair of tickets to Opening Night at the Ordway, where winning submissions will be displayed in the lobby throughout the run.
Submission are due on October 9.

Join Minnesota Opera and Mind’s Eye Comics for an all-ages art workshop celebrating the upcoming world premiere of The Many Deaths of Laila Starr, a brand-new operatic adaptation of Ram V and Filipe Andrade’s award-winning graphic novel. Hear from local creatives about the connections between visual art, comics, and music and learn from local illustrator and animator Sishir Bommakanti about how comic book and graphic novel covers are created. Afterwards, try your hand at creating a new cover for The Many Deaths of Laila Starr of your own!
