NEXT STAGE: Pathways to Creative Careers

Discover the World Behind the Curtain

Opera isn’t just about what happens on stage. It’s about the people who design and operate the lights, the artisans who build the sets, the marketers who share the story, and the administrators who make the magic happen. “Next Stage” is a program designed for students ages 14-24 to explore high-demand careers in the arts. Prior arts experience is not required.

What You’ll Do

Starting Summer 2027, participants will go behind the scenes at the Minnesota Opera (MN Opera) to explore diverse career paths. You’ll experience a mix of classroom instruction and guided activities led by MN Opera staff and other industry professionals, and discover a future you may have never imagined.

Program participants will meet June 6th – 25th, 2027 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10am to 3pm.
