2023–2024 Chorus Auditions

Minnesota Opera is now accepting applications to join our 2023–2024 season chorus! Production periods for the chorus are:

Show #1, at the Ordway
Music rehearsals: 9/12–9/29
Staging: 10/3–10/21
Tech/Performances: 10/25–11/12

Show #2, at the Ordway

Music rehearsals: 12/9–12/29
Staging: 12/30–1/11
Tech/Performances: 1/17–2/4

Show #3, at the Ordway

Music rehearsals: 3/16–4/2
Staging: 4/2–4/20
Tech/Performances: 4/24–5/19

The auditions will be held at the Minnesota Opera Center | 620 N. 1st St., Minneapolis, MN on:

• Wednesday, March 29, 2023: 6pm–7pm
• Friday, March 31, 2023: 6pm–10pm
• Saturday, April 1, 2023: 1pm–6pm

AUDITION REQUIREMENT:
1 aria or art song, preferably in Italian or Spanish

There is no fee for this audition, and a pianist will be provided at no cost to you. You are welcome to contact the pianist to inform them of your selections and schedule a rehearsal if you’d like, just email Sal Vasta at [email protected] for more details. Minnesota Opera will not cover the cost of rehearsals or coachings. You may also bring your own pianist at your own expense.

Once you have submitted the form, you will receive an automatically generated email. Follow the link in that email to sign up for an audition time.

DRESS CODE: Casual (wear whatever you feel best expresses who you are)

Minnesota Opera requires proof of COVID-19 Vaccination in order to schedule a live audition.
All levels of vocal/musical training are encouraged to apply! MNOP encourages applications across race, age, ability, socio-economic status, gender, and sexual orientation in effort to realize its mission and values and to sing every story!
