2020-2021 Season Update FAQ

What happened to the money I paid for my 2020–2021 Season subscription(s)?

We have put that money on your MN Opera account. You can use the money on your account to buy digital products for the updated 2020–2021 Season, tickets for Opera in the Outfield at CHS Field, gift certificates, and use the money to make donations. Additionally, once we announce the 2021–2022 Season, you may use the money on your account to renew your subscription for the 2021–2022 Season. All money on your account not used by May 31, 2022, will be donated back to MN Opera.

What about money I paid for parking?

Just like we’ve done with the value of your performance tickets, we have returned that money to your MN Opera account to be used for other purchases.

Can I use my on account funds online?

Currently, no. However, we will be able to handle on account transactions on our website by late August 2020. Until then, you can use your on account money by calling Patron Services at 612-333-6669, Monday through Thursday, 10am to 5pm.

What is the incentive program?

The incentive program is designed to honor your commitment to MN Opera by rewarding funds that aren’t refunded back. As a special incentive made possible by an anonymous donor, earn 10% back on any funds remaining on account on December 31, 2020, including any on account funds used for purchases for the 2020 Fall Season such as digital events and Opera in the Outfield at CHS Field.

My subscription was on a payment plan. What happens to my future payments?

Any payments scheduled for after June 30 have been cancelled. All money that has already been paid towards 2020–2021 Season subscriptions has been moved to your MN Opera account. Here, you can use the money on your account for the 2020–2021 fall and spring seasons, to purchase gift certificates, or to make donations. Once we announce the 2021–2022 Season, you may use it to renew your subscription for the 2020–2021 Season. All monies not used by May 31, 2022 will be donated back to MN Opera.

I renewed by the early bird deadline. What happens with my Ordway concession vouchers?

Unfortunately, we will not be issuing Ordway concession vouchers this season. When you get your 2021–2022 Season early renewal notice, be sure to renew by the early bird deadline and we will issue vouchers for you to use during the next season. Ordway concession vouchers are not valid at CHS Field.

I made a seating change request when I renewed. What happened with my request?

Because the reimagined 2020–2021 Season is so different from a typical season, we will not be processing any seat change requests for the 2020–2021 Season. When you receive your renewal notice for the 2021–2022 Season, please let us know your specific seating needs and we will do our best to accommodate you.

I did not renew my 5-Opera seats. What happens to my seats?

We recognize that many patrons did not renew their subscriptions due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 Pandemic. You will have another opportunity to renew your 2019–2020 seats into the 2021–2022 Season when it is announced.

I would like a refund of my on account money. Can I get a refund?

Yes, you can refund your on account money. Refunds are processed via the phone only. Please call Patron Services at 612-333-6669, Monday through Thursday from 10am to 5pm.

We hope you stay with us and keep your dollars available for future performances. Your investment in Minnesota Opera today strengthens our fiscal vitality moving into the future. As a special incentive made possible by an anonymous donor, earn 10% back on any funds remaining on account on December 31, 2020, including any on-account funds used for purchases for the 2020 Fall Season.
