Sabine Hogrefe
The German Soprano Sabine Hogrefe was born in Lübeck. She began her studies at the Musikhochschule in Lübeck under the direction of Professor Karl-Heinz Pinhammer. From 1985-1991 she continued her studies at the Musikhochschule in Detmold.
Sabine Hogrefe started her career at the Aaltotheater in Essen. She has been a member of the Staatstheater Schwerin, Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz Munich, and the Stadttheater Freiburg where she sang her first Wagner and Verdi roles.
Since 1997 she has been studying with Ada Zapperi.
From 2005-2007 she was a member of the Theater Bremen, where she sang Katja Kabanova, Leonora/Forza del Destino, and her first Isolde, a role she repeated at the Staatsoper Hamburg, and in the Nantes-Angers production of Olivier Py.
Sabine Hogrefe made her debut as Brünnhilde at the Landestheater Detmold in 2007 , which she repeated with great success at the Theater Freiburg.
In 2008 she sang her first Turandot. In her 2009 debut at the Bayerischer Staatsoper als Gertrud, she performed in Hänsel und Gretel. In May 2010 she performed Götterdämmerung Brünhilde at the Freiburg theater.
In the 2010-2011 season Sabine Hogrefe sang Madame Lidoine/Les Dialogues des Carmelites in a new production of Guy Joosten at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Busoni/Turandot at the Opera Dijon Sieglinde at the Oper Leipzig and covered Brünnhilde/Walküre at the MET. In 2012 she made her debut as Elektra at the Theater Regensburg. In 2013 Sabine Hogrefe returned to the Deutsche Oper am Rhein to sing Brünnhilde/Walküre.
In October 2013 she sang Brünnhilde in the Ring at the Opera Dijon. In November 2013 she returned to the MET to cover the Dyers Wife in Frau ohne Schatten, a role she sang at the Oper Frankfurt and the Staatstheater Saarbrücken in 2014. In 2016 she sang her first Ortrud/Lohengrin at the Oper Frankfurt repeated in Brüssels in 2018. February 2017 marks her debut with the Greek National Opera, Teatro San Carlo and Göteborg Opera as Elektra. In 2018 she made her debut at the MET as Elektra and Kundry (cover). In 2018-2019 Sabine Hogrefe sang her first Kostelnička Buryjovka at the Opera Dijon, followed by further productions at the Greek National Opera and the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern. 2019 marks her debut with the Minnesota Opera as Elektra.
