Pietro Di Bianco
Pietro Di Bianco is rapidly establishing as versatile bass-baritone. After initially studying piano at the Salerno college of music and the Santa Cecilia Academy he began vocal studies at the age of 25.
In 2009 he received his voice diploma at the Anna Vandi Conservatory in Aquila.
In 2010 he performed Don Alvaro Il viaggio a Reims for the Rossini Opera Festival Academy conducted by Alberto Zedda, and Don Alfonso Così fan tutte for the Santa Cecilia Academy, where he took part in masterclasses with Renata Scotto.
After two years of study with Raina Kabaivanska in Siena and Sofia, he participated in the Turin Voice Academy with Rockwell Blake. In 2014 he won the Paris Opera Awards and entered the young artist’s programme at the Opera de la Bastille. He currently studies with Raphael Sikorski in Paris.
Roles include Leporello, Don Giovanni, for the Pierre Cardin Festival, in Antibes and in Chartres, Beaupertuis in Rota’s Il cappello di paglia di Firenze in Bari, Don Profondo Il viaggio a Reims in Novara, Hidraot in Lully’s Armide in Innsbruck Festival, Selim Il turco in Italia for the Landestheater Salzburg, Don Annibale in Donizetti’s Il campanello for the Wexford Festival and recently Gottardo’s cover in La gazza ladra for La Scala of Milan.
He includes a concert in the Berlin Philharmonie for Radio Klassik Deutschland, Strappaviscere in Donizetti’s Viva la Mamma! for Opera de Lyon and Gaudenzio in Rossini’s Il signor Bruschino tour with Enrique Mazzola and The Orquestre Nationale de l’Ile de France.
In 2018 he will be Fiorello again in Il barbiere di Siviglia under the direction of Riccardo Frizza and then Maestro Spinelloccio by Gianni Schicchi of Puccini with Laurent Pelly as stage director at the Opéra Bastille in Paris.
In summer he will be to the Festwochen der Alten Musik in Innsbruck Osmida in the Didone abbandonata by Mercadante under the direction of Alessandro De Marchi.
