Michelle Liebl

Soprano Michelle Liebl appears with Minnesota Opera this season singing the roles of Yvette and Georgette in La Rondine and in the chorus in The Italian Straw Hat. Last season she sang the role of Crobyle in Thaïs as well as chorus in both Don Pasquale and The Marriage of Figaro. She is a regular chorister with Minnesota Opera having sung in 32 productions with the company since 2002, including the role of Butterfly’s Cousin in Madama Butterfly.  She has also been involved in Minnesota Opera’s New Works Initiative, singing in workshops for Doubt, The Manchurian Candidate, The Shining, and Dinner at Eight. Ms. Liebl has sung in many semi-staged concert opera productions with the Minnesota Orchestra and Minnesota Chorale. She is a long-time contracted soprano with the Minnesota Chorale and has also sung locally with Skylark Opera, the Consortium Carissimi, the Plymouth Music Series, The Edina Chorale, and the Bach Society of Minnesota. Ms. Liebl is a veteran liturgical musician with 24 years of experience as a soloist, cantor, and section leader at several Twin Cities churches. Michelle is fluent in Spanish and has a passion for Spanish language music. She is currently spearheading an effort to bring Spanish and Latin American Zarzuela to the Midwest. Michelle balances her singing career with work as a Spanish Interpreter in the medical field.
