Marcia Aubineau

2025 Forte Award Honoree

Marcia Aubineau is a longtime MN Opera subscriber who has been a passionate advocate for not only the company but the art form at large. A former teacher at Stillwater High School and the University of Saint Thomas, Marcia has applied her skills as an educator by creating study guides and other materials for MN Opera’s educational workshops since 2002. In 2006, she presented on behalf of the company at Education Minnesota’s Professional Conference, giving a talk entitled “The Grapes of Wrath: From Novel to Opera.” Marcia was a member of MN Opera’s Leadership Cultivation Committee for multiple years and in 2017, she became a lead instructor for Opera Connections, an opera education program held at senior residences around the Twin Cities, offering residents the opportunity to delve into the music, libretto, themes, and cultural context presented on MN Opera’s season. Marcia’s years of service highlight not only her love of opera, but also her gift for making it accessible, meaningful, and alive for others.
