Ian Christiansen

Ian is ecstatic to join Minnesota Opera, and to reprise the role of Max! He first played the character in 2014 during the premiere version of this Don Pasquale with Arizona Opera. A New York transplant, Ian currently resides in Phoenix and is a teaching artist with Arizona School for the Arts. Noteworthy engagements include Sons of the Prophet (Stray Cat Theatre), The Light in the Piazza (Phoenix Theatre), City of Angels (Theaterworks), OPUS (Actors Theatre of Phoenix), and Two Gentlemen of Verona and Love’s Labour’s Lost (Southwest Shakespeare Co.). Ian was a company member with The American Mime Theatre in New York, as well as a character illustrator for the Walt Disney Company. He Ian holds a BFA in acting from Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama and studied at National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney. He is supremely grateful to Chuck, and thanks his family (especially ‘Ma’) for their unending support. For Addy.
