Brian J. Kuhl

Tenor Brian Kuhl makes his role debut in these performances with The Minnesota Opera, having been a member of the ensemble in productions of Orazi e Curiazi, Don Giovanni, Carmen, Maria Padilla and The Magic Flute. Most recently, he was heard singing Gastone in the Minnesota Orchestra’s Sommerfest production of La traviata. Additionally, he is a recent participant in the Des Moines Metro Opera’s James M. Collier Apprentice Artist Program, where he was cast as Billy in Mahagonny Songspiel. Mr. Kuhl received a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Minnesota and appeared for the university’s Opera Theatre in L’incoronazione di Poppea as Lucano and the First Soldier, Street Scene as Sam Kaplan, Le nozze di Figaro as Don Basilio and Don Curzio, The Turn of the Screw as the Prologue and Peter Quint and Gianni Schicchi as Gherardo.

 

As a soloist, Mr. Kuhl has appeared with a number of local and regional organizations, including the Century College Choir, the Bloomington Covenant Church, the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Bach Society of Minnesota, Rochester Orchestra and Chorale, the Minnetonka Choral Society and the Rochester Aria Group.
