Ameriprise Financial has been a major supporter of MN Opera for more than thirty-five years. Their generosity and long-term commitment to strengthening their communities has resulted in significant grantmaking that sustains nonprofit organizations across the country. In 2024 alone, Ameriprise contributed more than $18 million, logged 50,000 employee volunteer hours, and provided more than $500,000 to disaster relief efforts. Ameriprise has been a transformational partner to MN Opera over the last three decades, with support that transcends their grantmaking. Numerous Ameriprise executives have served on MN Opera’s Board of Directors, bringing engaged leadership valuable perspectives to our work. Ameriprise staff at every level have been active audience members, individual supporters, and advocates in bringing the local community and beyond closer to the company’s work. In 2007, Ameriprise was the National Presenting Sponsor of MN Opera’s world-premiere production of The Grapes of Wrath, and later, were the first institution to support the nascent New Works Initiative that has since contributed seven new American operas to the repertoire. Their enduring partnership continues to help ensure that opera remains an integral part of the Twin Cities community.
