YOUTH OPERA SHOWCASE
The Youth Opera Circle and Youth Opera Studio, part of Minnesota Opera’s youth programming, will jointly perform at their final year-end showcase on May 11th, starting at 1pm at the Luminary Arts Center. Led by Youth Program Music Directors, Rick Hoops, Jared Miller, and Sara Sawyer, Youth Opera Circle and Youth Opera Studio are after-school programs for young singers that allow middle and high school students to immerse themselves in the world of opera through singing, study, rehearsal, and connection with their peers. This Year-End Showcase is the culmination of all their hard work throughout the year. A total of 28 students from the YO-C and YO-S programs will perform 6 group songs. Additionally, each YO-S student will present a solo repertoire piece that they have been working on since September.
