Pablo Siqueiros
Baritone Pablo Siqueiros is enjoying his second year as a Teaching Artist with Minnesota Opera. During his time there he has delivered educational programming to thousands of people, from toddlers to seniors, gaining praise for his innovative and friendly approach. He has also been seen onstage in Minnesota Opera’s recent productions of Silent Night and The Italian Straw Hat. Before moving to Minnesota, he was an established presence at the Florentine Opera Company in Milwaukee where he served as their Education and Community Engagement Manager. In addition to his education work, he also performed with the Florentine Opera Company, Skylight Music Theater, Milwaukee Opera Theater, and Sugar Creek Opera (IL). As a Studio Artist with the Florentine Opera, he appeared in performances of Der Fliegende Holländer, Wuthering Heights, Elmer Gantry, and L’Elisir d’Amore. During the 2013/2014 season he performed the roles of Barone Douphol in La Traviata, Curio in Giulio Cesare in Egitto, and Customs Sergeant in La Bohème.
Prior to his residence with Florentine Opera, he participated as a Young Artist with Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, where he performed the roles of Mr. Lindquist in A Little Night Music, Jean-Paul in French Suite, and covered the role of Schlemil in The Tales of Hoffman. In the summer of 2012, Mr. Siqueiros debuted the title role in Don Giovanni with Bay View Music Festival, in which critics praised him for his “velvet baritone” and “licentious” character. In 2011 he participated in the Los Angeles-based OperaWorks Advanced Artist Program under the direction of Ann Baltz. Mr. Siqueiros has received awards from the Virginia Hawk Vocal Scholarship Competition, NATS San Diego Chapter Auditions, and SDSU Symphony Orchestra Soloist Competition.
He earned his Master of Music degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, where he performed the roles of Interpreter/2nd Doctor in Daron Hagenʼs Amelia, Silvester in Three Sisters Who Are Not Sisters, Sprecher in Die Zauberflöte. The San Diego native holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from San Diego State University, where his passion for opera sprouted. While at SDSU, he performed the roles of Bob in The Old Maid and the Thiefand Ko-Ko in The Mikado.
