Application – Principal Coach and Chorus Director

Minnesota Opera is seeking candidates for the position of Principal Coach and Chorus Director. In alignment with MN Opera’s vision to “sing every story,” this position supports the artistic department’s continuous work of helping MN Opera become an antiracist and anti-oppressive organization. Reporting to the Head of Music, and collaborating across the artistic department, this position supervises all chorus preparation, selection, and management. This position also serves as the principal coach and pianist for mainstage productions. Principal Coach and Chorus Director will be a passionate artist and administrator. The successful candidate will bring an extensive knowledge of operatic repertoire, both from the inherited canon as well as current new works, and will be highly proficient at leading chorus rehearsals and playing the piano in coachings, rehearsals, and performances.
