Pauline Huey-Fen Hsu is a Taiwanese soprano. She has received the “New Voice Rising Star” title from the Association of Vocal Artists of Taiwan. Ms. Hsu is pursuing her DMA studies in Vocal Performance at the University of Minnesota under Professor Jane Giering-DeHaan.
Jianing Li is a soprano from China studying in the University of Minnesota doctoral program. She was awarded the 99th Annual Schubert Club Bruce P. Carlson Student Scholarship Competition Second Prize in 2022.
Yitao Lin is a bass from China who is studying in the doctoral program at the University of Minnesota. Favorite roles include Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte and Commendatore in Don Giovanni. Yitao plays the trumpet and tuba and loves to travel.
Wendy Matsutani, soprano, holds a Master of Music from the University of Minnesota. A native of California, she has performed across a range of companies and genres within the MN arts community and is honored to debut with Minnesota Opera.
CongJu Song, tenor, is a 3rd-year doctoral student in vocal performance at the University of Minnesota. Previous roles include Luigi from Il Tabarro, Don Ottavio from Don Giovanni, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, and the title role in Werther.
Yuwen Sun, born in Nanjing, China, is a graduate of East China Normal University and the New England Conservatory. Past roles include Nada (Svadba), Second Witch (Dido and Aeneas), China Cup and Dragonfly (L’enfant et les sortileges), and Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro).
Momoko Tanno is a versatile singer/actor/artist who sang the lead in MNiature Opera YR GOD MY GOD. Other credits include Guthrie, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, and Mixed Precipitation. She serves on the voice faculty at UWRF and SPCPA and has premiered operas Yukionna and Hebionna by Asako Hirabayashi.
Joseph Vang is a Hmong American actor making his Minnesota Opera debut in The Song Poet. Favorite credits include Guthrie: Cyrano De Bergerac, A Christmas Carol. Theater Mu & Park Square Theater: Flower Drum Song. Lyrics Arts: Anything Goes.
