Read MoreA police officer and his wife give birth to a son in Harlem, who grows up in protest of an oppressive system. As conflicts continue to arise as the son and the Father continue to not see eye to eye, the son is killed in a protest, leaving his Father ridden with guilt.
Blue was commissioned by The Glimmerglass Festival and premiered at the Festival in July 2019.
The scenery and costumes were originally created for a co-production with The Glimmerglass Festival, Washington National Opera, and Lyric Opera of Chicago.
