Elise Meichels Parker
All members of the Minnesota Opera Orchestra and STRINGenius Quartet, performers Allison Ostrander (violin), Elise Meichels Parker (violin), Emily Hagen (viola) and Rebecca Arons (cello), are versatile artists that enjoy vibrant, diverse careers in the Twin Cities. Together and individually, they champion living composers, embrace new partnerships, and search out opportunities to play with all kinds of artists from jazz musicians to ballet dancers, rock stars to singer-songwriters.
Outside of their roles as members of the Minnesota Opera Orchestra, Allison, Elise, Emily and Rebecca can be found creating on the Minnesota Orchestra stage, as well as in the Orpheum, the State Theater, the Guthrie Theater and the recording studio amongst others. Collectively, they have collaborated with artists ranging from Prince to living composers/songwriters and find the process of commissioning and workshopping a brand-new piece of music as rewarding as performing its premiere. In addition to participating in the workshop and world premiere of Kevin Puts and Mark Campbell’s Pulitzer Prize-winning opera Silent Night in 2012 with Minnesota Opera, members of STRINGenius have recently worked with multi-Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Maria Schneider, as well as local arranger and composer Adi Yeshaya in premieres of new works. They look forward to bringing yet another new work, Edward Tulane to the stage with Minnesota Opera in the fall of 2022.
