Application — Scene Shop Supervisor

The Scene Shop Supervisor, under the direction of the Technical Director (TD), the Assistant Technical and Facilities Director (ATFD), and the Associate Production Director (APD), is responsible for supporting the vision of Minnesota Opera as it relates to its various programming. This position participates in the development of construction schedules, materials and asset inventories, room and event set up and breakdown, and A/V tech support for Minnesota Opera (MNOP) productions and activities; truck packs and logistics for MNOP productions and rental program productions; and collaborative management of the physical space needs of the scene shop, rehearsal rooms, auxiliary rooms, support spaces, and the MNOP warehouse. Key to the position is the ability to communicate and collaborate with all facets associated with MNOP’s operations including Production, Facilities, Artistic, Impact, Advancement, and Board relations, along with vendors and rental/event clients. The Scene Shop Supervisor works with the Production Department to create and sustain a producing environment that is artistically and professionally in alignment with the company’s health and safety plan, Diversity Charter, and anti-harassment policies. The Scene Shop Supervisor actively supports the company’s mission to change lives by bringing together artists, audiences, and community, advancing the art form of opera for today and future generations.
